SUMMARY   Services Excellence Summary

The Arizona Lutheran Retirement Center (ALRC) in Phoenix, Arizona, was established to provide low-cost housing and community services to senior members of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) who have little finances or are impoverished. ALRC was established in 1976 as a non-profit company. It is self-owned and run, with oversight provided by a Board of Directors comprised of WELS laymen and pastoral volunteers from a Federation of Arizona WELS churches in the Phoenix region. ALRC employs a full-time manager who lives on-site to oversee day-to-day operations, give spiritual and material assistance, and guarantee that each resident has a secure and comfortable place to live.
