Taversha's personal narrative is gripping. She is a Rhine, Georgia native who spent the most of her childhood in suburban Georgia with her mother. She found gymnastics at a young age. Gymnastics was Taversha's first introduction to sports, and she excelled at it. As a gymnast, she reached level nine, which is two levels below Olympic qualification. This was Taversha's first hint that she held a gift, one that should be treasured and nurtured. She was passionate and at ease in the sport, as evidenced by her winning the World Cheerleading Association (WCA) national title as a high school freshman. She'd discovered her calling.
