SUMMARY   Services Excellence Summary

Two months back, at the Second Saturday Art Walk, it was a crazy scene. There were many people. The sidewalk between I and J streets was jammed. This section seems to be the hub for the monthly celebration because almost all the businesses along that stretch are open to celebrate. One could barely move when one stepped into the gallery b. Sakata Garo at the southern end of the block. Many friends showed up, eager to have a good time and make new acquaintances. Barry Sakata was also there. He enthusiastically introduced three of the artists who were displayed at the gallery. Although they were pleasant, it was noisy in the gallery, and difficult to decide what to do in such a situation. "Gee! I sure like your artworks," or something similar, is often the response. The art was beautiful and it was an enjoyable experience to meet the artists. However, it was impossible to see the artwork and feel its effects that night. A visit to the gallery just a few days before gave you more space and time. This is the best way. It is unlikely that you will find a gallery empty if you go in here during the week. You might be rude to some people, but they will not notice you. You can have one-on-one contact with artists. It's possible to spend as long as you like with pieces that you are passionate about, while also letting go of stuff you don't find interesting. It's possible to get close and/or put distance between yourself and the piece. This is an art-viewing luxury. These moments are particularly rewarding at b. Sakata Garo. It is an absolute pleasure to look at the building. The building is a brick-built structure with the feeling of a Manhattan gallery. The gallery has high ceilings, a traditional glass front, and is open and airy. However, brick walls keep the space from becoming too stuffy. A small sign with the name of the gallery simply spells it out. It's almost like knowing what it is before you go in or what you will find there.
