After suffering from the negative consequences of a bad lifestyle, Recovery Acres offers men an opportunity to make a change in their lives. The process begins with a conscious awareness of addiction and how it affects relationships. It involves engaging in therapy, working skills, recreation, and healthy interpersonal relationships. It is our goal to assist men in discovering their purpose. Recovery Acres offers residential treatment for men who have a history or addiction to alcohol and are looking to make a change. To promote client development and maintenance of a healthy and productive lifestyle, we use trauma-informed principles. This includes group sessions, individual counselling, therapy, and recreation therapy. Our clients are supported throughout the program by strong and ongoing community connections. Clients will connect with Fellowships such as Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous before leaving Recovery Acres. They will also be part of men's support groups and anger management classes. Whatever their needs, we ensure that they have an aftercare plan. The program helps people regain control over their lives and understand what causes them to become addicted. It also offers alternatives for those who want to live a happy life without addiction. Recovering from addiction is not about avoiding drug and alcohol abuse. Recovery Acres clients discover a renewed desire to personal growth and self-awareness. They also find meaningful relationships. The move toward self-actualization allows them to become active, contributing members of their community.
