Art history is the starting point of The Artful Owl, which explores various techniques and media in art creation. Participants will gain visual literacy through art history, process art, and experiential learning. Classes will cater to a variety of learning styles. The goal is for participants to enjoy and create art. Artful Owl gives participants tools to help them understand the world in a visual way and think creatively to solve problems. This is an important life skill that participants can use throughout their lifetime. Studio was born out of a passion for art, learning, and creativity. Stephanie worked as a museum curator in various galleries and museums for 12 years. She was inspired by the collections. She used this same inspiration to teach Introduction to Art, History of Textiles, and other courses at the University of Manitoba. She collages and creates a variety of different art projects for the children that come into the studio each week. Her life is shared with her husband Chris, and daughter Hazel.
