Alexander Dan Gheciu was granted full membership to CSIC (Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants), on the 13th April 2006. This date marked the beginning of CSIC's self-regulation of "immigration consultants". CSIC was established by Canada to supervise the activities of members and ensure that they are constantly learning new skills. It also protects the general public from unscrupulous or unauthorized representatives. Dan received ab initio membership to the new regulator when the Department of Citizenship and Immigration replaced CSIC by ICCRC, in an effort to improve the consumer protection component. The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) then transferred his membership to CICC. Since 1994, he has been a member of Organization of Professional Immigration Consultants (currently referred to as CAPIC). He also served as its director from 2000 through 2002. Since 1991, he has handled immigration issues, initially with a reputable Toronto law firm, and then as a director at both D&G Europe Consulting (DG Certified Immigration Consultants) ("D&G Europe Consulting") in the latter. After graduating as valedictorian at the Law School of Bucharest, he completed four years of postgraduate study in Comparative Law in Strasbourg.
