Rhonda Stimpson is my name and Bright Side Play Therapy is mine alone. A Registered Social Worker, I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Certificate of Foundations of Play Therapy from Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Institute. I also have a Certificate for Using a Sandtray In Play Therapy, a Certificate of Safe and Sound Protocol, and a Diploma in Early Childhood Development. The Canadian Association of Play Therapy is also active in my life. Every child and family should be able to access the help they need. The eyes of children can help us see the complexity of life. Children can develop trusting relationships with their therapists through play therapy. This allows them to express themselves and have fun exploring feelings and thoughts. Play Therapy, a therapeutic intervention, requires specifically accredited training through the Canadian Association of Play Therapy. Therapeutic Play, play-based approaches, and other play-based words are not included in Play Therapy. The therapist can see children as young as 3 years old and as far as 12 years of age.
