SUMMARY   Services Excellence Summary

Ecole College Park School, located on Saskatoon’s eastside, is a bilingual English-French Immersion school. Our priority is learning. Our multicultural community is something we are proud of. We strive to make sure that every culture is respected and appreciated. Our diverse community offers students the opportunity to learn more about other cultures and their beliefs. Parents are invited to share their knowledge with students about their traditions, holidays, and culture so they can all learn from and about each other. We believe academically that students who are literate, enthusiastic, and interested in reading will be better prepared for the future. Our school is proud to boast the top spot in Saskatoon Public Schools library circulation statistics, with the most books per student or staff member. Our school has borrowed 223,26 books from the library and other reading materials since the start of school. Reading is a fundamental part of the school's culture at Ecole College Park School. There are many ways to engage students with reading, including Book Scouts and Book Buddies, and Accelerated Reader. These activities promote reading and help support the Literacy for Life program at Saskatoon Public Schools. Through the teaching of value concepts, character education is integrated into many subjects at Ecole College Park School. Senior students lead the school and model good behavior for their younger counterparts. The Progressive Discipline Plan aims to encourage students to make more positive choices and learn to be better friends with other people. Students in grades 3-4 can benefit from the Random Acts of Kindness Club, which helps them understand and practice kindness. For many years, we have been partnering with Sherbrooke Nursing Homes. Small groups of students regularly visit the Home and interact with senior citizens. Our students have the opportunity to learn about and make a positive difference in others' lives through this partnership. Our students should be responsible citizens of their community and the city. Our school has been a champion for the causes of the poor around the globe for a while. The school's staff works together to create a learning environment where students are aware of differences in the world. We hold food drives each year for Saskatoon Food Bank and the Salvation Army. Our efforts have helped endangered species worldwide, raised funds, provided school supplies, and engaged in environmental solutions.
