At Elevate we view counseling as a way to help people who are complicated and have complex stories. The stories we tell can have a positive or negative impact on our minds, bodies, and spirits. Every person has a unique story. These stories can be influenced both in positive and negative ways. We use counseling to help you identify the story, how it was impacted and what you can do about it. Your account is your story. You are both the author and the expert. Our goal is to help you rededicate your story. We started to Elevate because counseling and therapy go beyond just being a space for people to tell their stories. Stress in life affects more than just your mental and emotional state. Stress can affect the entire person. Elevate is here to help you heal your whole person. ECT is an anti-oppressive method that approaches ecology and human experience. Each person is different and each client is an expert on their particular problem. The therapist is not responsible for this. The problem is treated as an individual problem. It does not determine the person. All backgrounds and lifestyles are welcome and accepted.
