The Canadian Army, the land arm of the Canadian Armed Forces is what we call the Canadian Army. Our mission is to provide training and support forces for the defense and protection of Canada. We are proud of our personnel who work in more than 30 occupations. Our force is composed of both full-time regular soldiers and part-time reservists who serve in communities, as well as Canadian Rangers operating from remote areas in Canada. Part-time service for the Canadian Army is provided by the Army Reserve. The Army Reserve generates full-time capability from part-time services, both at home and overseas. The Reservists have the option to choose where they want to go, depending on what their circumstances are. They can also serve Canada directly from their home. Reservists are an integral part of the Army and benefit from their unique work experience, sense of belonging, camaraderie, and overall feeling of being part of the Army. Civilian employers are very proud of the work experience, leadership abilities, and life experiences they have gained. New recruits are guaranteed four full-time summer jobs. This is in order to train them to be fully competent leaders after their four-year service. Reservists' varied experiences are essential to Army's success in operations.
