West End, a private real estate investment company located in Washington D.C. Jimmy Barter, the managing partner of West End, and Jeff Wainwright founded it in 2013. We are focused on delivering exceptional risk-adjusted returns to our investors through a long-term and value-oriented real estate investment approach. West End acquired more than $500 million in real estate since its founding, which includes over 4,000 apartments and almost 1,000,000 square feet commercial space. Capital preservation is our primary objective. To use a baseball metaphor, it is better to consistently hit doubles, allowing positive returns to accrue over time than to try to swing for the fences by trying to earn large returns from riskier investments, which are more vulnerable to losing. We do this to maximize the positive aspects of things when they go well and to be able to weather downturns in real estate and capital markets cycles. We use very little leverage, and we are focused on structuring transactions that offer ample protection against the downside.
