Our venue was established in 1970 and is one of the best visual arts spaces in Atlanta. These galleries present works from international and national artists as well as local and regional artists. They also host work by Georgia State alumni, students and faculty. The gallery program includes panel discussions, talks, and presentations. This gives students direct access to scholars and professional artists. B.F.A. M.F.A. Students have an exhibition of their thesis in the Welch School galleries. The school also has two student-run galleries: Cage Space & Gallery 650. Cage Space, a gallery with a view at Edgewood or Piedmont avenues, hosts art exhibitions by the Art Student Union. Gallery 650 can be found on the 6th floor's top landing. It is a white-walled area. This space is available for student groups and classes to critique work and it can also be used for staging or documenting the work.
