Boston Center for the Arts supports artists in creating, performing, and exhibiting new works, develops audiences, and links the arts with the community. Boston Center for the Arts, which opened to the public on January 1970, has been a part of the Boston community for the past five decades. Boston Center for the Arts is located in the South End of Boston, but it touches all parts of the city's culture. Boston Center for the Arts is a leading cultural force that has helped thousands of artists and small groups. They have also supported performing arts companies and individual performers who enrich the Boston arts community. Boston Center for the Arts, through its residencies, programming and other initiatives, serves as a hub for a growing number of artists from all fields. It has also catalyzed career advancement by creating fertile grounds for artistic experimentation. Over the last 50 years BCA's artistic programs have changed. They began with visual arts and theater, but now include all disciplines and forms of art practiced by artists in Boston. We have expanded our outreach and provided more access to BCA services by implementing innovative residency, performance, and exhibition programs.
