Bay Cove serves more than 250,000 individuals and their families each year with developmental, intellectual, and substance use disorders, homelessness, and/or age-related challenges. It has more than 170 programs in Metro Boston, southeastern Massachusetts. A substance use disorder can be a devastating disease. It affects both the person and their family as well as those who support them. Bay Cove offers a range of services to help with substance abuse, such as detoxification, residential programs, group and individual counseling and outpatient treatment. Our programs are designed and operated with an understanding of addiction as a medical condition. People with drug and alcohol addiction can be treated effectively and live productive lives. Addiction treatment has the ultimate goal to help an individual achieve long-term abstinence. However, the immediate goals of the addiction treatment are to decrease drug use and improve the patient's functioning.
