SUMMARY   Services Excellence Summary

Dimock's Women's Renew-Clinical Stabilization Services provides intensive services to up to 20 women over a period of one to four weeks. It addresses the unique needs of women who are in early recovery and helps them to recover. This program provides structure, support, and hope to women with ongoing problems related to substance abuse, mental illness, and trauma. It creates "Healing Communities" using the best techniques such as trauma informed care and motivational interviewing. Our Services Women are offered support and space to reflect, refocus and regroup during their stay in the program. Women receive group and individual therapy each week. These therapies focus on finding effective coping strategies and understanding addiction's complex nature. Staff and clients work together to create a plan that will ensure their ongoing treatment. Residents are provided with homework to aid in learning and a Roadmap to Recovery, a planning tool to assist them as they move forward on their journey to recovery. The second Healing Community is My Sister's House. Over a one-year period, it provides support and residential care for 22 women. Staff work together with women to help them set their goals and create a safe, supportive environment that allows clients to live independently in the community. The best practices are harm reduction, motivational interviewing and trauma-informed treatment. Our Services Residents are supported by staff to develop healthy habits and learn self-care skills. They also help build caring relationships. Women can also connect with Dimock's health services to find out how they can address and prevent future harm from substance abuse. My Sister's House offers a variety of counseling services including individual and group counseling, case management and support for family stability. This includes parenting education, visits to parents and 12-step meetings, yoga, and parenting education. Many women come straight from Women's Renewal to My Sister's House. Clients are assisted by staff to learn healthy living habits and manage daily tasks that are important in their lives. Residents move through each phase of the program slowly as they recover. Residents can build stronger relationships with each other and assist new residents in adjusting to the program. Women on suboxone and methadone are welcome to My Sister's House. The Department of Public Health's Bureau of Substance Abuse Services supports this program.
