Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology is my primary specialty. This is a specialization in professional psychology that combines the fundamental tenets and principles of clinical psychology with an extensive background in developmental psychopathology and child and adolescent development. My role as a child psychologist and clinical adolescent psychologist is to conduct psychological research on children and young people. Clinical Child Psychology's research and practice focuses on the understanding, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of psychological, cognitive and emotional problems that affect children. My work as a child psychologist and clinical adolescent psychologist focuses on the scientific understanding of basic psychological needs and the influence of family, social, cultural, and environmental factors on the development of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral skills, as well the health and wellbeing of adolescents and children. It is essential to have a solid empirical research foundation that recognizes the importance of developing and documenting evidence-based treatments and assessments in clinical child/adolescent psychologist.
