Rodney is an active bow maker for more than 37 years. He's a Master of Bow Making and he belongs to the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. Rodney is one of America's top bow makers. He has made over 1,100 of them and restored many others. Rodney, as the former Co-Director of Violin Society of America’s Oberlin Bow Restoration Workshop has taught many students about the art of bow making and restoration. Rodney has taught at North Bennett Street School, Boston and performed at Chicago School of Violin Making where he was an alumnus. He also serves as the board of directors. Rodney is also the director of Learning Trade Secrets. Rodney is a multiple award-winning international competitor, having won awards at the Violin Society of America International Competitions as well as the Concours International de Paris. Rodney has been awarded the VSA's distinction as Hors Concours. Rodney served as the president of both the Violin Society of America and the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. Rodney is now a holder of a NuBow patent and has the desire to create a NuBow from bamboo.
