Family Insurance Center was founded by Robert Thiel in 1988. Eric DeBruin was hired in 1993 to join the thriving Seymour-based company. Eric was made principal agent in 2004 and became owner. John Hammen joined the company that year. In 2004, Eric became the principal agent and owner, along with John Hammen. The next year saw the addition of brothers Darren Van Camp and Chad Van Camp as farm insurance specialists. The agency expanded in 2009 with two additional offices - one in Greenville, and one in Stockbridge. This was the hometown of John Hammen. Chad Van Camp and Darren Van Camp were partners in 2016 and opened their fourth Freedom location. Family Insurance Center nearly doubled its size the following year. It added three ISC agencies from Menasha, Green Bay and Chilton to its family. Family Insurance Center today has more than 25 licensed agents, and support staff who have combined experience of over 150 years. Although there has been much change over time, the goal to maintain relationships with our communities and provide the level of service that is expected of a local agency has not changed. Family Insurance Center is a forward-thinking local agency that values the solid traditions on which it was founded. The support that we have received over the last 30 years has been a great honor.
