Infants and toddlers 6-6 years of age can take ISR lessons. These lessons, which are safe and efficient for your child, can be tailored to suit their needs and given one-on-one. Group lessons are not offered. The lesson will be personal to your child and the instructor will pay attention only during the lesson. The lessons last no longer than 10 minutes per day and can be taken on five days each week from Monday to Friday. The enrollment period for ISR Self-Rescue(r), is usually between 6-8 weeks. The ISR instructor will instruct your child in skills and health considerations. They also provide ongoing evaluations and education for parents. ISR suggests that children take refresher lessons six months to one year after their initial lesson experience. Your child will be able to adapt their swimming and floating abilities to meet their constantly changing bodies. Children aged 6-12 months learn ISR Self-Rescue(r), which involves rolling on their backs and letting go to let them float, rest, and breathe. This position is maintained until help arrives. For children aged 6-12 months, lessons will teach them how to roll onto their stomach to float, rest, breathe and stay in this vital position until help arrives.
