The Milwaukee Health Care Partnership was established in 2007. It is a private/public consortium that aims to improve health care in Milwaukee County for those with low incomes and underserved communities. The power of health care can impact race and equity. This is possible by looking at both inwardly at current policies and practices, and outwardly at the way that health care interacts with patients and uses community resources. MHCP believes in health equity, which is the belief that every person has the right to a healthy life. Health equity is achieved by naming and eliminating racism, and then addressing it with specific data-driven and evidenced-informed antiracist actions.
