Legal Aid BC was established by the Legal Services Society Act 1979 in order to offer legal advice and representation. While our primary focus is serving the needs of those with low incomes and their families, many of the services we offer are accessible to everyone in British Columbia. Here's an overview of our past. This is done by offering a variety of legal services to help individuals resolve their problems. As part of the LSS Act obligations, we determine which services to offer. We offer our services at all legal assistance locations in the province. Legal Aid BC is dedicated to reconciliation and improving Indigenous access to legal assistance services. The Reconciliation Action Plan outlines how we plan to move forward. Our commitment to working with many of our partners in the justice sector, to sharing information, and to improving access for those who are most vulnerable, is also a priority.
