SFU Continuing Studies has over 300 programs and 30 courses for professional or personal development. You can learn at our convenient campuses in Vancouver or Surrey as well as online. SFU Continuing Studies is part of Simon Fraser University's Lifelong Learning Unit. It offers flexible learning opportunities for professional and personal development. There are hundreds of courses that can be taken for credit and over two dozen other programs available to assist you in achieving your career goals and building and supporting sustainable communities. Classes are created to fit into your busy life. Many classes are offered online, or on weekends at the Surrey and Vancouver campuses. We have served thousands of students from all walks of life since 1971. Since 1974, our first offerings were the Liberal Arts and 55+ programs. The Interpretation and Translation program was launched in 1985. The City Program, an award-winning program that educates students about timely urban issues in 1993, was launched. In 2001, we established the Writer's Studio, which helps emerging writers practice their craft and learn.
