We started "Wandering Gypsy", an online company in 2012 to display the amazing art created by artisans from Mexico. To purchase exquisite art from internationally acclaimed artisans, and discover new artists, we travel to Mexico. We have changed the name of our store to POCHTECA to better reflect our artistic and personal lives. The Pochteca (pronounced posh-TAYka in prehispanic Mexico) was a professional Aztec merchant who traveled long distances to provide luxury goods from distant lands for Tenochtitlan, the Aztec capital.
