Geoff Nugent PhD, LMFT was the founder of Nugent Family Counseling Center in 2007. Four offices are currently open for clients in San Jose and Santa Clara as well as Los Gatos and Reno, Nevada. Nugent Family Counseling Center serves a wide range of clients, including children and adolescents as well as adults who have been affected by addiction, grief, anxiety, trauma and stress. The counselors strive to give clients the tools they need to recognize and understand the impact of their emotions, behaviors and relationships on them and their families. The counseling sessions are designed to remind families of what they value about one another and use a mix of family and individual therapies. There are many innovative therapies available, including dialectical behavior therapy, psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy as well as marriage counseling, anger management, marital counseling, and psychological testing. Neurofeedback is a positive reinforcement for the brain that helps the brain change. They have positive effects on cognition, behavior, attention, mood and behaviour.
